I received my undergraduate degree in Human Relations from Kalamazoo College in Kalamazoo, Michigan. In April of 2001, I received my Master of Fine Arts degree in Poetry from Western Michigan University. I quickly embarked on a career teaching college level writing.

I began my first job in Admissions at Columbia College Chicago and for five years worked full-time in the Admissions Office while teaching evening classes on campus. In 2005, I moved to California and became a regional admissions counselor for Columbia College Chicago. My next regional admissions position took me to a more selective institution working for Northeastern University. I am now fortunate enough to be back at a creative institution as the Senior Associate Director of Admission at Emerson College.

I feel lucky to have been in many different positions (from the classroom to the office to the regional perspective) in Higher Education. After twenty years in this field, I still find it fulfilling and rewarding every day.
